Romance is the most popular genre in modern literature

Did you know that…

…romance is the most popular genre in modern literature generating $1.37 billion in net sales annually?

…romance novels account for 26.4% of all books sold?

…demographically, 56% of romance readers are under age 44, and 74% have college degrees?

…romance readers are also voracious consumers, having read an average of nine romance novels each in 2006?

….ebook sales increased 87% in June 2008 over the same time the previous year?

Overall, romance novel readers are young, savvy, well-educated, computer-literate and comfortable with new technologies.

We are so thrilled to be on board with the launch of Ravenous Romance™!

VoteApparel.com on Boutiqueville

Chicago-based Style Wonderland Boutiqueville covered VoteApparel on Wednesday, highlighting the shirts as a great way to encourage voting without having to risk “coming under fire from your opposing political party just for encouraging people to vote.”

We agree, sometimes subtlety is key…

Ravenous Romance

Our client base has never been dull, but this Fall it’s about to get a bit more risque. DMPR has recently signed on to promote Ravenous Romance™, an online publisher of e-book romance novels.

Ravenous Romance™ will publish daily novel-length erotic romances, as well as lunchtime “Hot Fling™” short stories in e-book and downloadable MP3 format. The company will offer content online at http://www.RavenousRomance.com beginning December 1, 2008.

Ravenous Romance™ will offer erotic romance–stories with strong plots and character development, but with steamy sex scenes and explicit descriptions of sexual encounters. The stories will feature strong, passionate heroines and plots that express a broad range of fantasies. Ravenous Romance™ will be a destination site for women, with a female-empowerment approach to erotica that celebrates female sexuality, and strong Web 2.0 community-building features.

At DMPR we’re passionate promoters of all of our clients’ lifestlye categories: food, politics, books, and more. This Fall we’ll be getting passionate about passion.

another SWEET new client

I have a sweet tooth…okay, I actually have an everything tooth…but there are few things that excite this publicist so much as dessert. Whether it’s cupcakes or fancy deconstructed fine dining style dessert plates, I LOVE to eat sweets. I’m so very thrilled that we’ve just signed on for a campaign with SWEET, a new pastry shop and dessert bar opening in Worcester this summer

Award winning pastry chef Alina Eisenhauer (formerly of The Sturbridge Baking Company) will open doors to the new retail pastry shop next Tuesday to coincide with the 6th Annual Taste of Shrewsbury Street. Keep an eye out for the SWEET girls if you go, who will be passing out coupons for a free cupcake. Who doesn’t love a free cupcake?

The dessert bar will open later in the month, and will feature fine dining-style dessert plates, an amazing wine list with and extensive selection of port & suggested pairings, and a full bar with a 2 a.m. license.

VOTE apparel

I love me an election year. The excitement and anticipation, the sense of possibility — it’s thrilling. This year, Dalyn Miller PR has the unique opportunity to get involved by promoting a very cool new client, VOTE Apparel. They make tee-shirts boasting this logo:

The image is screened on blue, red, and green well-cut American Apparel tees if you want to broadcast your party affiliation, and white for those of us who just want people to vote. Because as we learned in 2000, every vote counts

Naughty Paris Guide

This week kicks off the campaign for our newest client, a sexy guide to the City of Light called NAUGHTY PARIS by Heather Stimmler-Hall. Dalyn and I couldn’t be more excited! Both of us adore Paris and all the trappings of this lovely city. Plus, this book is going to be so much fun to promote.

Oh, and next time you run into one of us, make sure to ask about the trip our company took to a chateau outside Toulouse last June shooting on location with clients. It’s quite a story…
